Fentex Medical Instruments Minimally Invasive Otoplasty (MIO) by BENEDICT is a reliable technique for correcting protruding ears (1st degree dysplasia). It has developed over a period of two decades. The MIO does not require extensive skin incisions and excisions. It provides an aesthetically pleasing, naturally looking and lasting result with virtually no scars. Smallest access incisions minimize the risk of hypertrophic scars and keloids.
Set includes all eight instruments.
Method
The MIO instruments designed in cooperation with Martin Benedict, MD (Ettlingen/Germany) are used for modeling of cartilage through one small incision on the backside of the auricle. The MiO-Set consists of straight instruments used to weaken the elastic force of the cartilage by scratching and rasping as well as left and right curved instruments for dissection.
